I got to visit with him today at UNC chapel Hill Hospital rm 5308 phone # 919-966-2697
Joe is a vet just back from overseas and just got his 87 harley back from having it totally worked on. The first time out on it a woman pulled out in front of him and he t-boned her. He was lifeflighted to Cape Fear but his injuries were serious enough that he was flown again to UNC. He had a punchured lung and some serious road rash on his right leg. His left leg was crushed but praise God was repaired in surgery. He was very lucky. Joe was in good spirits and I was able to pray with him and Julie. His left leg is going to take 6 months to heal before he can put weight on it . Joe is a strong man and with prayers I am sure he will recover fully. He has a lot of support in Fayetteville NC were the accident happened. I am not sure how much longer Joe will be in UNC but Joe said to come back anytime to visit. If anybody has time pay Joe a visit or call. Thanks and God Bless

Joe, I know you will heal well. UNC is the best of the best for body repair. It’s awful how drivers don’t see bikes out there. Seems like some kind of light system–like the school buses have–is necessary to catch their attention. Joe, I pray for you. I can’t help thinking that somebody is trying to slow you down. Not a lot. Just a little. Slow down just a little. How the heck else are you going to become that grumpy old man who hollers, “Get off my property!”? A novena will take me 9 weeks. Sounds like I got just enough time before your cast comes off.
