Rhett:
Good morning. Hope you and your family are doing well. I know it has been a while since we have talked but I have a friend who was involved in a motorcycle accident a few days ago and he is in UNC Hospital on the 6th floor. His name is John Robert (Bobby) Pearson. See Comments
Bobby worked for me at Chapel Hill Transit as our Parts Manager in the maintenance shop. He retired a few years ago and moved from Chapel Hill to Milton, NC up in Caswell County. His wife Teresa (also in UNC Hospital on the 6th floor – having cancer related surgury today!) is quite sick and they both have had many medical struggles the past few years.
Bobby was travelling southbound on Hwy 86 and a truck pulling a trailer pulled infront of him and forced him and his motorcycle into an accident. Bobby is a motorcycle collector and has 7 vintage bikes (Moto Guzzi’s and BMW’s). He is very devoted to his wife – and he’s a good person. I went to the hospital yesterday to visit with him and his wife and prayed with them.
His recovery will be slow. He has many broken bones in his shoulder, ribs, etc, but does not have any mobility limitations. He was very lucky.
I was wondering if you or a member of your motorcycle ministry could pay a visit to him. I think he is in room 6415 or 6417. (Im not sure). He is in one room and his wife is in the other.
I know they attend a local Baptist Church (Shiloh) and I believe that Teresa is saved. I’m not sure if Bobby has ever made a profession of faith to accept Jesus.
It would be a blessing if you or someone could make contact with him. Please call me if you have any questions. I’d love to hear from ya.
Thanks so much. Hope you have a blessed day!
Kurt
All,
Please see the email above outlining the circumstances re Bobby Pearson. I was able to visit and pray with both Bobby and his wife Teresa last evening. He is now in room 5326 and Teresa is in room 5322. There is no release date yet for Bobby. He has a separated right shoulder and 3 broken ribs. Praise the Lord there was almost no road rash and no head trauma. Bobby did say it will be an 8-12 week recovery period so his journey is just beginning.
Teresa’s surgery went well and she’s hopeful to be released today if everything continues to go as well as it has in the last few days.
Both Bobby and Teresa know the Lord as their savior and know that he is in ultimate control of both of their situations.
Please add these 2 to your prayer list.

All,
I stopped by and visited with Bobby last evening. He was out of bed and sitting in a chair when I arrived. He said he has been able to move around the room a little bit but is now going through a lot of pain and stiffness. He told me that he has 5 broken ribs, a dislocated right shoulder and a collapsed right lung. They are hoping the lung will reinflate on its own but if it doesn’t there’s a chance he will have to have surgery to fix the hole. Pray that healing will come and that surgery won’t be required.
A praise – Teresa, his wife has been released and is at home recovering following her surgery last week.
Continue to lift up Bobby and Teresa in your prayers.
