A member of the Smoky Mtn Hog group, Al Heick, was involved in an accident while riding home on I26 about 3pm on Sunday. I was notified Monday morning by Pastor Mike, but didn’t know then that he was talking about a good friend of ours and a supporter of BikerDownWNC. We rode with Al to Rolling Thunder twice and have ridden several other rides together. It has been reported he was hit from behind on the highway. Al is in the ICU at Mission Hospital. Vince and Pam have been there to visit tonight and I hope to get there tomorrow night. Pam reports that he is attended with support from his son, Michael, his pastor, his sister, Beverly, and many friends from HOG. First reports are that he has broken leg, road rash, possible broken bones in his back and in his face. Please pray up for our friend and fellow Christian, Al. SFFS Monty See Comments

Visited Al, tonight. He is critical and needs our prayers for each day he is in ICU and for as long as he is in the doctors care. He has good support from family, HOG and from Freedom Biker Church, BD just adds to the mix. Keep AL in your prayers and Lift him up for quick healing.
From Al’s Sister, she writes:My brother had his 4th surgery today and so far doing good. They won’t do no more till next week. It been a week since his motorcycle wreck we are so blessed he is stable and doing some better. Thanks to everyone for the support and the prayers. I’m so glad we have god in our lives cause he can do miracles everyday. Thank you God for loving us and always being there. Beverly
I visited Al again tonight and he is doing very well. He has more surgery to undergo, to repair his knee, but he was in good spirits and trying to shake off the heat rushes of the medication he was on. It was good to talk to Al, you know? He was himself. Praise God for Al and his life and all he is to his family and friends. We continue to pray for Al and his upcoming surgery. God is good and we thank Him for He gets the praise and the Glory.
I spoke again with Al. He is doing well and this is a praise report. Al has been in accidents before and they have been serious each time. Al has been a good rider, biker enthusiast and supporter. Having time to look at the ceiling he is evaluating what his life is all about. We have time to reflect and get priorities in order. Al is a smart guy. Pray that God will lead and guide him through the rest of his recovery and rehab. Thank God for Al’s life – he’s a good one.
