Donna and Jim Bruce were hit by a car on Saturday June 21st. They both were admitted to Mission with injuries. Jim has since been released, but Donna is seriously injured in ICU with various other injuries including severe trauma to her leg and arm (surgery to correct today) and other bumps and bruises. I spoke with her son tonight and the family is devastated that this happened to such a fine person. Please pray for this family for God to comfort them and Donna throughout her recovery. The family feels for Donna as she is so sedated she is unaware of the condition she is in. But, we know God is good all the time and He would not give her what she cannot bear to accept. Bad things can happen to good people, its all how you understand God’s will. His plans for her – who He loves – is good. We will continue to update.

Donna is pretty tough. We hear she is trying to stay off of any pain medicine and doing very well at it. Her family is doing well and feel better about her progress. Keep the whole family in your prayers.
I met Donna and Bruce for the first time tonight. Previous meetings were foggy for her and I had not met Bruce before. They were together tonight and I found them somewhat disappointed, as she was getting ready to go to CarePartners when the doctors found some infection on her leg. They will take care of that tomorrow and hopefully after that she will be on her way to therapy. They both have strong wills and thank God each day for all they have. I pray that Donna will get stronger each day and prepare for what God has in store for her life.
