We actually got initial information and responded to this accident within minutes of the accident. A friend of BD was at the scene and reported it immediately. Thanks, Bob. Stephen Hightower and his x-wife were on Smokey Park Hwy by Boone’s Corner and nearly got hit head-on by a truck . I went to see him tonight (26th) and was too late to visit for all the family that was there. Both are in their early to mid 50’s, and he just gave his life to Jesus 2 Sundays ago. He’s in Trauma ICU J422. His x-wife, is in room A527 and her name is Audrey Hightower. She had her leg and hip rebuilt with lots of steel rods and pins. They were broken in several places. She also has heavy road rash. Sons Trey, James, Tyler, and a daughter named Jessica were there last night and very concerned about the future. Stephen is going to need some help adjusting and may need assistance with mobility around the house. Please pray up for this family and see if you have resources available to help. If you wish, contact me at Monty@bikerdownwnc.org and tell me what you can do to assist this family.

I got to visit with Stephen, alias, Ted, alias, Brother. He’s a good guy and I was blessed to talk to him so frankly about his accident. He’s funny, too. Ted has good support from his family and with all the good Christians around him, I’m sure he will do well. Brother is now in Rm A514. Go visit and pray with him. We will stay in touch. Go by and visit with Audry, too. She is in room A527. She is doing good too. Lots of friends and family. She should be going home in a couple of days.
I been able to visit Ted and he is doing good. He has a great sense of humor and now that he is not under so many drugs has a good grasp of his surroundings and condition. His kids have been there everytime I’ve come to see him. His support structure is very good. He should be going to Rehab this week. Audry is doing well too. She has already gone to Rehab and will continue to heal and get back to normal there. Pray these people accept God’s will in their lives and draw closer to Him to hear what he has in store for them. I’m sure they know God loves them, I pray they lean on Him for more direction in their lives for the future.
Ted is back in the Hospital at St. Joes to have more work done on his leg. Infection and deterioration of muscle has required the doctors to take more of the leg off for healing to continue. I prayed with Ted and his mother and from that we had good conversation about what he is thinking and his confusion about all this and his relationship with God. Pray he is shown the truth, reads and understands what God has in store for him as he recovers from his injuries.
