John Robert Armstrong is in rm A519 at Mission Hospital. He prefers to be called Robert. On Sunday 5/19/2013 around 5 p.m. Robert was riding with his son, who was in the lead, on Blantyre Church Road in Transylvania County. They followed the road up the hill and into a bend where some “chad” had washed into the path. The first bike got loose, but being in a curve was unable to signal back to Robert. Robert went airborne over his bike, landing into a cattle fence at the bottom of a small embankment. His injuries are: broken left collar bone, broken sternum, 3 broken left ribs, crushed left pelvis, & fractured left thigh bone. After several surgeries he hopefully will move to Care Partners to begin rehab. He will be out of work for around 6 months. Fortunately he does have health insurance. Be in prayer for him as he recovers and pray the Lord has mercy to quickly heal him and get him back on his feet.
