Rick & Sherry Thornburg were on the way to Gatlinburg for the weekend on their Honda Gold Wing, when something happened to the bike and Rick lost control and they went down. They both have a number of injuries. They have both been admitted to Mission Hospital in Asheville NC, with multiple injuries. Praise God. Tom reports these two have gone home. Here’s their story. Rick & Sherry were able to finally set some time aside for them and were heading over to Gatlinburg for the weekend. After loading the Gold Wing they were ready to go. As they started out the door Rick’s Bible was sitting on the table, they stopped; placed their hands on the Bible and said a prayer of protection. As they drove on I-40 there was a problem with the front wheel, and Rick lost control of the bike.
Per the officer the estimated speed at the time of the accident was 70 mph. The Gold Wing was demolished and he didn’t see how anyone could have survived, let alone be released from the hospital in less than 24 hr. with only minor injuries.
{{{They both have road-rash and are bummed-up. Rick has a broken leg and Sherry has a broken arm. They are going to hurt for a while, but they are going to be ok…}}}
