On Thursday, September 24, 2009, at approximately 4:18pm, my brother, Larry Miller was traveling west on NC-280(Boylston Highway) in the Mills River township on his 2002 Harley Davidson motorcycle. As he approached the intersection of NC-191 (Haywood Road, Crossroads Drive and NC-280(Boylston Highway) a driver traveling east on NC-280 turned left onto Crossroads Drive directly in front of my brother. My brother did not have time to avoid the vehicle. His bike struck the right rear quarter panel at 45 mph. Larry was thrown over the vehicle into the middle of the road. Larry was air lifted to Mission Hospital with a compound fracture to the right knee, two broken wrists, broken right ankle, right foot, a broken right pelvis, and several broken toes.
Thursday night an orthopedic surgeon repaired his right wrist and attempted to repair the right knee. The surgeon could not repair the knee and said that a trauma specialist will have to repair the knee.
Larry is having surgery Monday, September 28, 2009, at approximately 9:15 am on his pelvis, knee and left wrist. The Trauma surgeon said he could not operate on his right ankle and foot because of swelling.
They told us that Larry will be out of work for approximately 6 months to a year. We could use any and all prayers.

Last night the 29th, I got to meet and pray with Larry, he looked familiar, but it was hard to tell with all the things stuck on him. He’s banged up and in a lot of pain. Good sense of humor though, and feeling blessed he’s still here. His wife, mother and daughter are all good people and it was good to know they all loved God. Larry has worked as EMS and I thought maybe he was one of the guys that came in the ambulance to pick me up on the Parkway a few years ago and take me to Brevard’s medical hobby shop. He didn’t recognize me, so, maybe not. Anyway, pray up and lift up Larry. He still needs lots of healing. I’ll see him again on Thursday. He’s not going any where too fast.
